Tips for freshmen

Soon, students from UniverPL will begin their studies at Polish universities. We know how exciting this can be for freshmen. So here are a few tips from our team 😊

Before Departure…

Think about what things you will really need during the first few days in the new city. Don’t bring too much! Kitchenware, routers, organizers, and other similar items – it’s better to buy them once you’re there.
That’s it! Your things are packed, documents are in place, take a deep breath – and you’re ready for a new chapter – student life! Let’s go on our journey and head towards the destination with great mood and positive thoughts.

Adaptation

Get to know your neighbors, take a walk around the city. Add some coziness to your room: make it a place where you feel comfortable, like home. Adjust to your new living situation. If you encounter any household difficulties – don’t worry, it’s completely normal at the beginning of independent life.

Studies

Be open to new acquaintances! Don’t be afraid to communicate with your classmates.
The first lectures at the university are usually just organizational sessions. The professors explain how the course will run, what the tests or exams will look like, and whether it’s possible to get an automatic pass. Don’t neglect this information – it will be useful to you during the exam session.

Don’t procrastinate with studying. If you don’t understand a topic, try to figure it out right away. For such cases, each professor has designated consultation hours, during which you can visit them and ask questions about the subject.

Don’t fear the first exam session! Take notes during lectures and you will be fine 😊 If possible, start preparing for the session at least a few weeks in advance. Print out a list of topics that will be on the exam and study one topic each day. That way, just a few days before the exam, you’ll only need to refresh the material.
