Advantages of studying for a master’s degree in Poland:

• Admission takes place without entrance exams or standardized tests.
• Affordable tuition compared to other European universities.
• Graduates who studied full-time do not need a work permit, just a diploma.
• A wide range of programs. The main requirement is that students must choose a program similar to what they studied in their bachelor’s degree.

Disadvantages of Studying:

• A bachelor’s degree in Poland is considered a full higher education, and a master’s degree does not provide additional advantages.
• Often, students have to combine studies with work. And studying for a master’s degree is not easy.

Admission to Polish Master’s Programs
In Poland, universities offer two admission campaigns for applicants:

• Spring-summer intake. Studies begin in March and last for 1.5 years. This is most relevant for engineering and technical programs.
• Autumn-winter intake. Studies begin in October and last for 2 years.

Students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher from various universities can apply for a master’s program in Poland. It doesn’t matter whether the student studied in Poland.
As for engineering and technical fields, applicants need to have a diploma in a related technical field.

Choosing a Language for Master’s Studies

In Poland, students can study their master’s degree either in Polish or English.

To apply for Polish-language programs, a certificate of Polish language proficiency at level B1-B2 is required. Some universities may also invite applicants for an interview to confirm their language proficiency.

For English-language programs, an international certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL is required. The necessary level of English proficiency for admission to a master’s program is B2.

Required Documents for Master’s Admission

To study for a master’s degree in Poland, applicants need to provide the following documents:

• Bachelor’s degree and transcript;
• Copies of passports (national and international);
• Four color photographs;
• Certificate of Polish or English language proficiency;
• Medical certificate.

It is worth noting that the required documents for admission may vary depending on the university. Additionally, candidates may be asked to submit recommendations, a motivation letter, a CV, or an essay on a given topic.
Cost of Master’s Studies

The cost of master’s studies in Poland depends on the chosen university and specialty. Tuition fees also depend on the language of instruction, with English-language programs being more expensive.

Polish-language studies cost approximately 700-2800 euros per year, while English-language studies cost 1350-5200 euros per year.

Forms of Study for a Master’s Degree in Poland

Polish universities offer both full-time and part-time forms of study for master’s programs.

Full-time study takes place Monday through Friday (the schedule depends on the university).

As for part-time studies, students attend classes once every two weeks or once a week from Friday to Sunday.

Free Education

In general, free education for a master’s degree is available to applicants who have a Pole’s Card or a residence permit. However, this is only for Polish-language programs.

Additionally, students can study for free at public Polish universities if they have a C1 level of Polish language proficiency.

• How long does a master’s program in Poland take?

Engineering master’s studies begin in March and usually last 1.5 years. After graduation, students receive a master’s degree in engineering.

• Can I change my field of study during admission to a master’s program?

The uniqueness of the Polish master’s program is that candidates can choose a field regardless of what they studied during their bachelor’s degree. The main thing is that the fields should be similar. This applies to both graduates of Polish universities and universities of other countries.
Exceptions are certain specialized fields.

• Can I study a double degree program?

Double degree programs are joint programs between Polish and other foreign universities that allow students to receive education at two universities in different countries simultaneously. Upon completion, they receive diplomas from both universities.
